The RVH Foundation team organized and hosted the inaugural ‘Evening of Connection and Gratitude’ event for donors on October 1 with a wine and cheese reception in the hospital’s beautiful Healing Garden, followed by a tour of the hospital.

The Renfrew Victoria Hospital (RVH) Foundation welcomed community members, donors, staff, and local leaders to a special Evening of Connection and Gratitude on October 1, marking ongoing growth, innovation, and the hospital’s deep connection to the community it serves. The event took place in the hospital’s main Healing Garden.

Renfrew Victoria Hospital CEO Suzanne Madore expressed heartfelt gratitude to all who continue to support the hospital’s mission of delivering exceptional care close to home.

“Today is a celebration of community, compassion, and commitment,” said Suzanne. “We are so fortunate to have caring, dedicated, and compassionate people here at Renfrew Victoria Hospital — from our staff and physicians to our generous donors and community partners.”

The event highlighted recent achievements and investments made possible through donor generosity and community support, including:

  • A complete rebuild of the main X-ray suite, featuring a new X-ray machine.
  • Installation of a 3D mammography unit with biopsy capability and patient comfort features.
  • Upgraded ultrasound equipment, CT scanner enhancements, and new anesthesia and IV systems.
  • A stress test treadmill and updated electronic vital sign monitors to support patient care.

These advancements have allowed RVH to continue expanding access to high-quality healthcare for Renfrew and throughout Renfrew County — ensuring more patients receive specialized services close to home.

Ongoing projects include the renovation of the Emergency Department, the installation of a new negative air program, and the renewal of patient care areas on the second and third floors. As RVH develops its new strategic plan, the hospital will continue to engage with community members to ensure services align with local needs and priorities.

“This hospital belongs to all of us,” Suzanne said. “Together, we’re building a healthier, stronger future.”

MPP Billy Denault (Renfrew–Nipissing–Pembroke), also in attendence, commended the hospital’s leadership, innovation, and unwavering commitment to patient care.

Foundation Executive Director Patti Dillabough, thanked all involved in this new event including Miliken’s Garden Centre for the landscaping and plants, staff from the Foundation and the RVH Maintenance department who maintained the garden, Dietary staff and J&J Chocolates for donating a selection of chocolates to pair with the wine.

Guests were invited to take a guided tour of the hospital to see firsthand some of the results of community investment at the conclusion of the reception.
