DescriptionReporting to the Director of Health Information Systems for Clinical Informatics, and the CNE for the Clinical Educator, the primary role of this position is to provide EPIC guidance and teaching, as well as leadership, support, advice and guidance regarding professional practice and education.
Duties will include but are not limited to: • Ensure maximum use and efficiency of clinical systems, equipment and processes. • Develop, implement, coordinate and provide education and support to staff in a manner that promotes patient safety and confidentiality. • Train physician and staff on system, equipment, workflow and process needs. • Identify staff learning needs and coordinate professional development, education and training accordingly.
• Act as a liaison/facilitator between staff locally and regional teams to troubleshoot issues, communicate build requests and provide solutions to end-users. • Participate on clinical meetings, teams and committees to ensure Epic supports our needs, and our teams are receiving the education they require. • Improve clinical outcomes based on best practice and evidence. • Consistently strive to improve knowledge and skills in the development of clinical systems and processes. • Other duties as assigned to support RVH clinical or administrative needs.QualificationsQualifications: • RN in good standing with the C.N.O. (Advanced Practice RN or Master’s prepared an asset) • Current CPR and ACLS certification • Minimum 5 years nursing experience in medical or surgical or critical care required, combined with 7 years health care experience. • Understanding of both clinical and administrative functions, workflows and processes within a health care setting. • Experience with clinical/informatics education and the principles of adult learning • Strong organizational and time management skills. • Excellent communication and leadership skills. • Good command of EMR (Epic an asset), Windows, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) • Access to a vehicle for occasional travel. • General understanding of interfaces and the use in clinical settings • Previous experience with chart auditing would be considered an asset. • Recent leadership or teaching experience or training would be considered an asset.
