 Addictions Treatment Services - Full Time Director 

For over twenty-five years Renfrew Victoria Hospital has been the proud sponsor the County-wide Addictions Treatment Services (ATS), providing outpatient community treatment services to individuals and family members who are experiencing problems because of alcohol and/or drug use, and/or problem gambling, in the communities of Renfrew, Pembroke, Barry’s Bay, Deep River, Eganville and Arnprior. 

Individuals with a Bachelor degree in Psychology, Social Work or equivalent, and a minimum of two years related clinical experience are encouraged to apply.  Certification as an Addiction Counsellor and bilingualism are employment assets. Demonstrated skills in program development and problem gambling/addiction interventions, a strong knowledge of community health and social service resources in our region, work experience in motivational interviewing techniques, and demonstrated success in program administration and management are required.  This position requires access to personal transportation and possession of a valid driver’s license.

Working out of our Renfrew and satellite offices, the Director performs supervisory and administrative duties for the ATS; and, conducts client assessments, counsels and refers clients to appropriate agencies.  The Director is a member of the multi-disciplinary Advisory Committee to ATS.  The successful applicant needs to be a flexible/creative leader who is able to work independently using a client-centered, solution-focused approach.  A Criminal Record Check is a pre-condition of employment at RVH.

Registered Practical Nurses
Reporting to Nurse Managers, the successful candidates must possess a current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario. Current certification in C.P.R. at Basic Rescuer Level (or equivalent), as well as Asepsis certification and Medication Administration certification, is required. As a RPN, you must have technical competence, good assessment skills, and are available to work all shifts as required.

The successful candidate will have sound organizational skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and to perform duties in the physical demands of the work area (lifting and mobilization of patients).


Registered Nurses
We are currently accepting applications from registered nurses for many of our Clinical Programs, including Medical/Surgical, Obstetrics, ICU, Emergency and Shift Coordinators. All candidates must possess a current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario. For positions in the ICU and ER, candidates must also possess current ACLS and ICU certification. For medical/surgical positions, experience with adult medical and surgical care is mandatory. For obstetrical positions, candidates must also possess Neonatal Resuscitation Certification and recent obstetrical experience including fetal monitoring skills.
